The hook
- Do
- Stand in front of a screenshot, headline or graph that backs up your point.
- Say
- This graph is why everyone is leaving that app.
The first 3 seconds
- 0.0sYou're in front of the screenshot, pointing at it.
- 0.5s“This graph is why everyone is leaving that app.”
- 1.5sZoom in on the key number.
- 3.0sThe viewer believes there's a story and wants it explained.
Why it works
Visible proof makes the claim feel real and gives the eye something to scan.
What you need
- A screenshot of a headline, post or chart
- CapCut (Remove background) or the green screen effect in TikTok or Shorts
- A plain wall behind you so the cut-out looks clean
Step by step
Plan
- Find the proof first: a headline, post or chart with one clear number. Note where it's from.
- Crop the screenshot so the key part is big and readable.
Film
- Stand in front of a plain wall with even light, so the background removal works cleanly.
- Leave space at the top or side of the frame for the screenshot.
- Point to where the key number will be, and say the number as you point.
Edit
- Put the screenshot behind you and shrink yourself into the bottom third of the screen.
- Zoom in on the number as you say it, and show the source in small text.
Use it in your niche
- FinanceIn front of a price chart: “This chart explains why everything got more expensive”
- GamingIn front of the patch notes: “This one line ruined the game”
- SportIn front of a stats table: “This number is why he's the best in the league”
Pro tips
- Circle or box the key number. The eye needs one target.
- Always show where the screenshot came from. It builds trust and protects you.
Avoid
- Screenshots too small to read on a phone. If you have to squint, crop tighter.
- Using someone's post to mock them. Talk about the idea, not the person.
